Prof Rane has dedicated his career to improve women’s health and their dignity. Recognising his
humanitarian work, the Government of Tamil Naidu named the ward after his wife” Dr Paula Rane
Fistula Ward”- a first in government hospital, Chennai. He has been a Chair of Fistula & Genital
Trauma, FIGO and trained surgeons in Africa & Asia. He has several publications to his credit and serves on many international boards. He has many patents such as Perigee, Duneze etc. He has been awarded the Order of Australia in 2013. He is well appreciated globally for his teaching and operative techniques.
